Books for Low Level Adult Readers

Are you familiar with any of the adult learner book series from Nox Press? The books are written specifically for an older audience with low literacy skills. Many people working with adult literacy learners claim that there just aren't many books out there that are interesting enough to maintain the interest of a lower level adult reader who isn't a fan of reading. Check out the "Junkyard Dan" series, "The Smith Brothers" and "A Leeg of His Own" at Nox Press' website, www.noxpress.com.

If your literacy program is not familiar with these books you may want to suggest that they invest in a few just to see how the learners like them. Once you try these books please share your experiences with us in the comments of this post.
